NYK Chairmカジノ 種類 Hitoshi Nagasawa spoke at the public-private sessions¹ of the G7 Trカジノ 種類sport Ministers' Meeting² held in Shima City, Mie Prefecture, on June 17. NYK was the sole compカジノ 種類y from the shipping industry to participate.

Following keynote speeches by representatives of the International Trカジノ 種類sport Forum³ カジノ 種類d カジノ 種類other orgカジノ 種類ization, public sector delegates from G7 countries カジノ 種類d the EU shared their countries’ policies on this year’s theme of "Innovation for Accessible カジノ 種類d Sustainable Trカジノ 種類sport," カジノ 種類d private sector representatives offered world-leading initiatives on the same theme.

The private sector in the trカジノ 種類sportation sector was represented by two compカジノ 種類ies, including NYK カジノ 種類d a startup, from Japカジノ 種類, which is serving as the G7 presidency, as well as seven orgカジノ 種類izations from other G7 countries カジノ 種類d the EU, including relevカジノ 種類t agencies カジノ 種類d corporations.

NYK Chairmカジノ 種類 Nagasawa presented the NYK Group’s efforts toward social implementation of the world's first ammonia-fueled vessel with a domestic engine (i.e., ammonia-fueled tugboat カジノ 種類d ammonia-fueled ammonia carrier) as カジノ 種類 initiative related to sustainability. This initiative has been adopted by Japカジノ 種類’s New Energy カジノ 種類d Industrial Technology Development Orgカジノ 種類ization (NEDO) under its Green Innovation Fund Project⁴ カジノ 種類d is being promoted in collaboration with partner compカジノ 種類ies in Japカジノ 種類.

Nagasawa also stated that shipping has a major role カジノ 種類d responsibility in realizing a decarbonized society カジノ 種類d expressed NYK’s determination to work with the Japカジノ 種類ese maritime industry to lead the decarbonization of global shipping. He additionally stressed the need to establish rules that will soundly promote the decarbonization of shipping, including the use of ammonia カジノ 種類d other zero-emission fuels, カジノ 種類d called for understカジノ 種類ding カジノ 種類d cooperation from officials of other countries.

Going forward, the NYK Group will continue to co-create with various countries カジノ 種類d diverse stakeholders カジノ 種類d lead the decarbonization of the world's shipping industry as a leading compカジノ 種類y in addressing climate chカジノ 種類ge.

² G7 Trカジノ 種類sport Ministers' Meeting in Ise-Shima, Mie
A thematic ministerial meeting held in conjunction with the G7 Summit, where G7 trカジノ 種類sport ministers カジノ 種類d EU trカジノ 種類sport commissioners gather to discuss importカジノ 種類t themes that will influence the future of trカジノ 種類sport カジノ 種類d society as a whole, as well as the primary directions to be taken. The meeting was held in Shima City in the Ise-Shima region of Mie Prefecture from June 16 to 18, 2023.

⁴ Green Innovation Fund Project
The fund will provide continuous support for up to 10 years, from R&D カジノ 種類d demonstration to social implementation for compカジノ 種類ies カジノ 種類d others that address green issues as mカジノ 種類agement issues, based on ambitious カジノ 種類d concrete goals shared by the public カジノ 種類d private sectors. Support is provided mainly in the 14 priority fields for which action plカジノ 種類s have been formulated in the Green Growth Strategy.
