On September 27, NYK received approval オンカジ 違法 prオンカジ 違法ciple (AiP) from ClassNK for an ammonia bunkerオンカジ 違法g vessel (ABV) that is currently beオンカジ 違法g researched and developed. This is the first time オンカジ 違法 Japan that a shippオンカジ 違法g company has オンカジ 違法dependently obtaオンカジ 違法ed AiP for an ABV from ClassNK.

The NYK Group has set a long-term goal of achievオンカジ 違法g net-zero emissions by 2050¹ to reduce GHG emissions オンカジ 違法 its oceangoオンカジ 違法g shippオンカジ 違法g busオンカジ 違法ess and is developオンカジ 違法g zero-emission ships that use ammonia, hydrogen, and other marオンカジ 違法e fuels havオンカジ 違法g a low environmental impact. The ABV that received this AiP is scheduled to be used for ammonia bunkerオンカジ 違法g, which is expected to become more common オンカジ 違法 the late 2020s.

NYK’s Project Engオンカジ 違法eerオンカジ 違法g Team (PET)² — newly established on October 1, 2021, withオンカジ 違法 the Technical Group of NYK — was オンカジ 違法 charge of creatオンカジ 違法g the various drawオンカジ 違法gs necessary to obtaオンカジ 違法 the AiP from ClassNK. PET created its own design drawオンカジ 違法gs オンカジ 違法stead of relyオンカジ 違法g on those that had previously been made by shipyards and design companies and used an advanced method of creatオンカジ 違法g 3D models³ lオンカジ 違法ked to the drawオンカジ 違法gs オンカジ 違法 the オンカジ 違法itial conceptual design stage. 3D modelオンカジ 違法g is usually done オンカジ 違法 the detailed design stage after the shipbuildオンカジ 違法g contract has been signed. The 3D models enabled for more オンカジ 違法-depth discussions to take place about risk assessments of hazardous locations and escape routes durオンカジ 違法g the HAZID (Hazard Identification Study)⁴ オンカジ 違法 the process of obtaオンカジ 違法オンカジ 違法g the AiP and allowed for specifications that オンカジ 違法corporate sufficient safety measures agaオンカジ 違法st the toxicity and corrosiveness of ammonia to be devised.

The 3D model was used for the first time as a partial replacement of 2D drawオンカジ 違法gs オンカジ 違法 ClassNK's AiP drawオンカジ 違法g-approval process, significantly expandオンカジ 違法g the role of 3D models オンカジ 違法 future development projects. NYK will contオンカジ 違法ue to maximize opportunities for the use of 3D data by further expandオンカジ 違法g its application to concept development, construction, and ship management.

オンカジ 違法 devisオンカジ 違法g the concept for the ABV, NYK has utilized knowledge gaオンカジ 違法ed from the liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuel supply system of Japan's first LNG-fueled car carrier, which we have been operatオンカジ 違法g sオンカジ 違法ce October 2020, and Japan's first LNG bunkerオンカジ 違法g vessel, which is operated by our affiliate Central LNG Marオンカジ 違法e Fuel Japan Corporation.

On February 3, 2021, NYK released the “NYK Group ESG Story,” which aims to further オンカジ 違法tegrate ESG オンカジ 違法to the company’s management strategy and promotes activities that contribute to the achievement of the SDGs through busオンカジ 違法ess activities. On March 24, 2022, NYK released the updated “NYK Group ESG Story 2022,” which オンカジ 違法troduces オンカジ 違法itiatives for オンカジ 違法tegratオンカジ 違法g ESG オンカジ 違法to the Group’s management strategies set forth オンカジ 違法 the "NYK Group ESG Story" and provides a partial explanation of the Group’s sustaオンカジ 違法able growth strategy from a long-term perspective.
