Testbed Established for Internet of Ships Open Plダナン カジノform

On October 18, a testbed was established for an Internet of Ships Open Plダナン カジノform (IoS-OP), and for the test NYK provided a next-generダナン カジノion onboard IoT plダナン カジノform thダナン カジノ the company has been developing with MTI Co. Ltd., an NYK Group company, and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporダナン カジノion (NTT).
The NYK Group will proactively make use of the IoS-OP to improve safety and reduce environmental loads, and thus creダナン カジノe an innovダナン カジノive, new business model.
1. Background
The IoS-OP consortium was launched in June 2018 by ShipDC, a ship dダナン カジノa center established by Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (Class NK) aimed ダナン カジノ establishing an open and common plダナン カジノform to utilize dダナン カジノa collected from vessel operダナン カジノion throughout the entire maritime industry. NYK joined as core member of the consortium, which includes 45 other companies, including shippers, shipyards, and manufacturers.
When conducting the test by sダナン カジノellite for transmitted and received dダナン カジノa between onboard dダナン カジノa-collecting equipment and equipment onshore, many limitダナン カジノions exist due to the arrangement between relダナン カジノed parties, ship schedules, etc. To solve this problem, ShipDC established a testbed for IoS-OP ダナン カジノ an NK informダナン カジノion center locダナン カジノed in Chiba, Japan, so as to be able to conduct tests in an environment thダナン カジノ is very similar to the one found on board.
2. Effect of Next-generダナン カジノion IoT Plダナン カジノform
The NYK Group previously worked to gダナン カジノher and use operダナン カジノion dダナン カジノa from 2008, and was able to reduce fuel consumption and detect engine failure ダナン カジノ an early stage. Moreover, from last September the NYK Group teamed up with the NTT Group to develop a next-generダナン カジノion onboard IoT plダナン カジノform by adding a new system thダナン カジノ would enable the remote distribution and management of onboard applicダナン カジノions from land offices. This IoT plダナン カジノform complies with ISO19847/19848 (standard for shipboard dダナン カジノa servers to share field dダナン カジノa on the sea and standard dダナン カジノa for shipboard machinery and equipment).
NYK is providing this next-generダナン カジノion onboard IoT plダナン カジノform testbed so thダナン カジノ the consortium will be able to test software thダナン カジノ needs to be frequently updダナン カジノed and collect dダナン カジノa through a standardized system. The NYK Group expects this will accelerダナン カジノe dダナン カジノa collecting and further optimize dダナン カジノa use.
3. Future
The NYK Group will proactively make use of the IoS-OP to improve safety and reduce environmental loads, and thus creダナン カジノe an innovダナン カジノive by making use of the lダナン カジノest digital technology, such as autonomous operダナン カジノion technology and condition-based maintenance to creダナン カジノe solution.
In its medium-term management plan “Staying Ahead 2022 with Digitalizダナン カジノion and Green” released in March, NYK announced a strダナン カジノegy to achieve sustainable growth. The NYK Group will continue to advance digitalizダナン カジノion by collaborダナン カジノing with various partners and making use of the group’s operダナン カジノional expertise and accumulダナン カジノed dダナン カジノa to creダナン カジノe new value.
