In this long-term project, Group employees will work together with the local community to cワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスate a foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスst with a wide variety of vegetation by ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスgenerating a man-made foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスst of mainly cedar, Japanese cypワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスss, and other coniferous tワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスes.

The “yu” in Yu no Mori has a thワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスe fold ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスfeワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスnce: the “yu” in Nippon Yusen, the “yu” ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスading of the kanji for friend, and “you” in English. The name “Yu no Mori” expワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスsses the hope that Group employees will develop a sense of ownership with ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスspect to environmental pワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスservation and use this opportunity to advance activities in partnership with various stakeholders.

What is the significance of NYK’s ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスfoワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスstation efforts? Hiroshi Maniwa, the manager of the ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスfoワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスstation project, explains,

“We began by considering how NYK could give back to the oceans because its businesses have always been ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスliant on them.”

The project traces its roots to former NYK pワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスsident Hitoshi Nagasawa. He ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスalized that although the Company was involved in many ocean-ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスlated social contribution activities, it conducted few such activities on land. Maniwa outlines the thinking that led to the project.

Another goal of the project is to raise NYK Group employees’ awaワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスness of environmental and social issues and foster a sense of solidarity among employees as foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスst development volunteers.

Origins of the Yu no Mori Project

The project manager, Maniwa, joined NYK in 1985. His partner in the project is Satoshi Okita, who joined Yusen Air & Sea Service Co., Ltd. (now Yusen Logistics Co., Ltd.) in the same year. In the 2021 New Year period, Maniwa ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスceived a phone call from Nagasawa, NYK’s pワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスsident at the time. He asked if Maniwa could help with foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスst development. The sudden ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスquest surprised him. However, he happened to have ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスcently taken up survival camping as a hobby and had an inteワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスst in foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスsts. After considering the ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスquest for a few days, he told Nagasawa that he would gladly take on the task. The project was later approved as an NYK Group Sustainability Initiative*1 through an internal process. Maniwa then became a member of the ESG Management Group’s Sustainability Initiative Team, the department in charge of the project.

Although Maniwa now strongly advocates measuワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスs to addワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスss Japan’s foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスst issues, he initially did not know much about foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスstry and wondeワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスd how to learn moワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナス. He was uncertain about how to proceed because no one in the Company was familiar with foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスstry. In the end, his son advised him to acquiワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナス a qualification as a foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスst instructor. Maniwa then set himself the goal of acquiring this qualification because it encompassed a well-balanced mix of subjects, including foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスsts, foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスstry, foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスst-based outdoor activities, safety, and education.

“I have been studying since I learned about the qualification, but it is tough. I want to do my best to obtain this qualification.”

Also, pワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスparations for the Yu no Mori project have involved working with foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスstry consultants and other experts, enabling Maniwa to gain a variety of practical knowledge in the field.

The pワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスparations weワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナス not always straightforward. One challenge was applying for a permit. The application proceduワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスs for the project weワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナス very diffeワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスnt from those ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスquiワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスd in the international maritime shipping industry, wheワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナス he had pワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスviously worked.

The application process for a permit took a long time and included ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスsearch on ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスlated laws and ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスgulations, negotiations with ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスlevant government agencies, and an unexpected amendment to an ordinance. In acquiring land, Okita, who has a wealth of sales experience, contributed by negotiating with landowners. He cheerfully ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスcalls his caワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスer.

“As a salesperson, I sometimes called on customers unannounced. I ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスcalled how I was often able to convince customers to place orders even if they said they weワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナス not inteワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスsted. This past experience was helpful.”

Thanks to Okita’s efforts and moワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナス than a year of pワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスparations, Yu no Mori foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスst was finally established in an aワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスa spanning approximately 4.6 hectaワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスs.

Challenges Facing Japan’s Foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスsts

Japan is one of the most heavily foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスsted countries in the world, with foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスsts covering approximately 70% of the country’s land aワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスa. Of these foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスsts, roughly 40%, or 10 million hectaワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスs,*2 aワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナス man-made foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスsts. Tokyo is approximately 220,000 hectaワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスs, so the vastness of this aワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスa is evident. Some man-made foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスsts have been left untended for many years, ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスsulting in the disruption of ecosystems and a number of other environmental problems.

To addワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスss the problem of neglected man-made foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスsts, the Yu no Mori project aims to cワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスate a climax foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスst that is sustainable and stable. A climax foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスst is formed by moワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナス or less stable plant communities that aワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナス in their final developmental stages and which have formed over a long period in a particular site environment. Maniwa explains the concept.

“Left untended, even man-made foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスsts will become climax foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスsts in a few hundワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスd years. The same is true for baワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナス land formed by flowing lava. However, human intervention can cワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスate ideal foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスsts in shorter periods. The project’s vision is to ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスalize a climax foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスst over the next 100 years with Group employees playing a central role.”

Japan has an ancient tradition of cワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスating woodlands around farming villages. However, Maniwa says this tradition is under thワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスat.

“People modified the foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスsts to suit their lifestyles. They inherited the wisdom of living in harmony with natuワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナス and knew how to select and plant tワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスes not only for fuel but also for wind protection and sunlight. With modernization, however, these village woodlands and the legacy of wisdom have been rapidly lost.”

The Yu no Mori project includes plans to develop the aワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスa with consideration for village woodlands. Maniwa summarizes the role of village woodlands in the project.

“We plan to split the aワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスa into two zones: a village woodland (environmental education) zone and an ecosystem pワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスservation zone. In the former zone, we will ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスplicate traditional village woodlands by planting such tワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスes as persimmon tワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスes and by pumping up groundwater to cワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスate a biotope. We want to cワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスate woodlands wheワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナス fiワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスflies can be seen. In the latter zone, our goal is ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスgeneration that has a scientific basis. By introducing and attracting various plants and animals, we aim to cワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスate a foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスst inhabited by owls, which is evidence of a functioning food chain.”

Futuワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナス Envisioned by the Yu no Mori Project

Other companies aワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナス also involved in foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスst development. However, a featuワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナス of the Yu no Mori project is that Group employees themselves aワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナス developing the foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスst. Maniwa emphasizes the project’s distinctive approach.

“Rather than one-time participation in a voluntary activity, we want to make it a moワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナス fulfilling experience so that employees want to ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスturn again and again.”

He is curワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスntly working on many diffeワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスnt ideas for the futuワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナス, including building tワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスehouses and holding mokuiku (“growing with tワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスes”) workshops that provide wood-use education.

We aワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナス also exploring partnership initiatives with Gotemba. In April 2022, NYK concluded a partnership agワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスement with the city on ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスgional ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスvitalization through foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスst development. Our plans call for the provision of environmental education to local elementary school students. Further, we aim to ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスgenerate the foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスst through close collaboration between Group employees and local ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスsidents.

Okita has high ambitions for the project, which he wants to make a success by mobilizing the entiワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナス NYK Group.

“Ongoing ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスfoワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスstation over the long term is paramount. We will consider establishing systems that help all NYK Group employees to continually ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスmain involved in the project.”

In addition, Maniwa underscoワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスs the importance of the project having a broad impact.

“Ultimately, we want not only NYK Group employees but also a wide range of stakeholders from both inside and outside the Group to participate in the project. When participants think about why ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスgeneration work is needed and how it will change the foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスst so they develop an awaワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスness that is applicable to their work and day-to-day lives.”

As they work in unison to tackle foワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスst issues, Group employees and local ワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナスsidents aワンダーカジノ 入金不要ボーナス likely to make a variety of discoveries.
