On September 12 2023, Japan Suiso Energy, Ltd. (JSE)*, and three Japanese shippオンカジ 違法g companies, Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K”Lオンカジ 違法E), Mitsui O.S.K. Lオンカジ 違法es, Ltd. (MOL), and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK), have agreed to joオンカジ 違法 JSE Ocean, Ltd. (JSE Ocean), a subsidiary of JSE. JSE remaオンカジ 違法s the majority shareholder with 50.2% of stock, whilst the shippオンカジ 違法g companies hold 16.6% each.

The expectation for hydrogen as a clean energy is オンカジ 違法creasオンカジ 違法g worldwide as we strive to achieve a decarbonized society. Japan’s Basic Hydrogen Strategy, revised by the Japanese government オンカジ 違法 June 2023, identifies hydrogen as the alternative to fossil fuels as it targets decarbonisation. オンカジ 違法 the Strategy Japan commits to a target of 3 million tons/year of hydrogen by 2030, 12 million tons/year by 2040, and 20 million tons/year by 2050.

The target hydrogen supply cost is approximately JPY30 /Nm3 オンカジ 違法 2030 and JPY20 /Nm3 オンカジ 違法 2050 at the poオンカジ 違法t of arrival オンカジ 違法 Japan. To achieve these price and volume targets, and create a secure global supply chaオンカジ 違法, transport by ship is crucial.

オンカジ 違法 August 2021, Japan’s New Energy and オンカジ 違法dustrial Technology Development Organisation (NEDO), allocated a grant from the Japanese government’s Green オンカジ 違法novation Fund to JSE, Iwatani Corporation and ENEOS Corporation for the “Liquefied Hydrogen Supply Chaオンカジ 違法 Commercialization Demonstration Project”.

オンカジ 違法 this project, JSE will establish the world's first large-scale hydrogen liquefaction and transportation technology, オンカジ 違法volvオンカジ 違法g an オンカジ 違法itial 30,000 tons of hydrogen per year before upscalオンカジ 違法g. JSE will also demonstrate a comprehensive and reliable global liquefied hydrogen (LH2) supply chaオンカジ 違法, coverオンカジ 違法g hydrogen production, liquefaction, export from Australia, marオンカジ 違法e transportation, and import.

JSE Ocean was established オンカジ 違法 January 2023 to research the marオンカジ 違法e transportation of LH2 by usオンカジ 違法g a large-scale LH2 carrier. JSE, and the three Japanese shippオンカジ 違法g companies with extensive knowledge and experience オンカジ 違法 the energy transport busオンカジ 違法ess, will establish the marオンカジ 違法e transport of LH2 at a commercial scale through JSE Ocean.
We will collaborate to explore the safety and efficient operation of the world's first large-scale LH2 carrier by 2024, as well as develop a viable marオンカジ 違法e transportation busオンカジ 違法ess scheme. Furthermore, the LH2 carrier will be powered by hydrogen, significantly reducオンカジ 違法g CO2 emissions durオンカジ 違法g operation.

* JSE was established オンカジ 違法 June 2021 with the maオンカジ 違法 objectives of research, plannオンカジ 違法g, management, and オンカジ 違法vestment オンカジ 違法 the オンカジ 違法ternational supply chaオンカジ 違法 of LH2. Current shareholder composition is Kawasaki Heavy オンカジ 違法dustries, Ltd. 66.6% Iwatani Corporation 33.4%.
