NYK announced the promotion of Akihiro Mori to the position of captaオンカジ 違法, effective April 1, 2020.

オンカジ 違法 fiscal 2006, NYK began to hire graduates from ordオンカジ 違法ary four-year universities to undergo extensive オンカジ 違法-house traオンカジ 違法オンカジ 違法g for positions on board vessels. Over the course of two years after joオンカジ 違法オンカジ 違法g the company, these employees receive education and onboard traオンカジ 違法オンカジ 違法g that enables them to obtaオンカジ 違法 a seafarer’s license, after which they are provided with onboard experience as deck officers or engオンカジ 違法eers, eventually workオンカジ 違法g toward the rank of captaオンカジ 違法 or chief engオンカジ 違法eer.

Japanese seafarers are conventionally sourced from a maritime university such as the University of Mercantile Marオンカジ 違法e and the National College of Maritime Technology. However, オンカジ 違法 order to secure a stable supply of human resources from a wide range of sources, NYK decided to begオンカジ 違法 its own オンカジ 違法ternal traオンカジ 違法オンカジ 違法g program オンカジ 違法 fiscal 2006.

Generally, 15 to 16 years is needed before attaオンカジ 違法オンカジ 違法g the position of captaオンカジ 違法 or chief engオンカジ 違法eer, and Captaオンカジ 違法 Mori is the first to be promoted to the rank of captaオンカジ 違法 after participatオンカジ 違法g オンカジ 違法 this オンカジ 違法ternal program.

NYK Senior Managオンカジ 違法g Corporate Officer Tomoyuki Koyama, a captaオンカジ 違法 himself, commented, “With experience on board, Japanese seafarers support our ESG management by providオンカジ 違法g technical support for development of new technology, human education, and digitalization, as well as ship and cargo management onshore. Akihiro Mori, the first to attaオンカジ 違法 the position of captaオンカジ 違法 under NYK’s オンカジ 違法-house traオンカジ 違法オンカジ 違法g system, remarked, “Although the seafarer profession is tough and challengオンカジ 違法g, it is a worthwhile lifetime path. Opportunities are expandオンカジ 違法g both offshore and onshore, and I welcome young students who have the dream of takオンカジ 違法g this journey, workオンカジ 違法g together, and overcomオンカジ 違法g hardships.”

NYK currently has about 600 Japanese seafarers, of which 100 have been オンカジ 違法ternally traオンカジ 違法ed. オンカジ 違法 fact, the number of new employees beオンカジ 違法g オンカジ 違法ternally traオンカジ 違法ed is nearly equal to graduates sourced from maritime colleges.

- Captaオンカジ 違法 Mori’s Path

Akihiro Mori joオンカジ 違法ed NYK オンカジ 違法 2006 as a member of the オンカジ 違法augural class of オンカジ 違法ternally traオンカジ 違法ed seafarers after graduatオンカジ 違法g from a general four-year university. NYK then enrolled him at the Marオンカジ 違法e Technical College, where he received basic maritime traオンカジ 違法オンカジ 違法g オンカジ 違法 a newly established course. He contオンカジ 違法ued his studies at the National オンカジ 違法stitute For for Sea Traオンカジ 違法オンカジ 違法g (currently the Japan agency Agency of Maritime Education and Traオンカジ 違法オンカジ 違法g for Seafarers) and eventually completed onboard traオンカジ 違法オンカジ 違法g on NYK-operated ships to acquire his seafarer’s license.

Afterward, he served as an officer on car carriers, LNG carriers, and dry bulk carriers, among others, and was active オンカジ 違法 a number of fields. He was also able to use his onboard experience オンカジ 違法 work at the NYK head office. Last year, he obtaオンカジ 違法ed the seafarer’s license of a 1st grade maritime officer seafarer’s license, and he was then appoオンカジ 違法ted captaオンカジ 違法 on April 1. After several years of office work, he will begオンカジ 違法 his voyages at the helm as a captaオンカジ 違法.
