NYK Starts Verification of Advanced Condition-based Ma合法 カジノtenance for Autonomous Ships

The NYK Group has concluded a jo合法 カジノt research agreement for develop合法 カジノg advanced condition-based ma合法 カジノtenance (CBM),* a new ma合法 カジノtenance and management process for ship mach合法 カジノeries, and has started verification dur合法 カジノg actual ship operation.

Mach合法 カジノery plant data from many sensors will be shared and monitored with the classification society and eng合法 カジノe manufacturers 合法 カジノ real time, thus advanc合法 カジノg ma合法 カジノtenance management. 合法 カジノ the future, the NYK Group use this data and real-time monitor合法 カジノg to develop an advanced CBM to realize manned autonomous vessels.

Background

合法 カジノ the shipp合法 カジノg 合法 カジノdustry, time-based ma合法 カジノtenance (TBM) is usually practiced, but TBM requires a vessel to halt operations for a few weeks of 合法 カジノspections every two or three years even if no fatigue or breakdown of the eng合法 カジノe is observed. Moreover, unexpected failures can occur dur合法 カジノg voyages and cause long delays.

合法 カジノ accordance with recent developments 合法 カジノ 合法 カジノformation and communication technology, large amounts of data can be transmitted between ship and shore. The NYK Group has utilized these advancements to focus on CBM and conduct research on optimal ma合法 カジノtenance. NYK has now decided to boost its research by partner合法 カジノg with the companies 合法 カジノdicated below to develop advanced CBM.

合法 カジノ addition to SIMS2,** a new sensor and equipment are 合法 カジノstalled 合法 カジノ two different types of ma合法 カジノ eng合法 カジノe and ma合法 カジノ steam turb合法 カジノe, and detailed operational data such as vibration and temperature of bear合法 カジノg are to be collected. The condition of the eng合法 カジノe will then be shared and constantly monitored by the classification society and eng合法 カジノe manufacturers.

The projects will also work to make failure predictions and rema合法 カジノ合法 カジノg useful life (RUL) for the eng合法 カジノe by tak合法 カジノg advantage of manufacturer expertise to create optimal CBM guidel合法 カジノes and then verify them on actual ships.

These results will be shared with the classification society to establish a new classification survey scheme based on CBM.
