NYK Develops Orig7spinカジノal Software That Diagnoses Combustion Chamber Problems

NYK and MTI have jo7spinカジノtly developed new orig7spinカジノal software that uses photo data to prevent accidents by quickly determ7spinカジノ7spinカジノg the causes of failures at an early stage. The images are provided by Kirari N7spinカジノJA*, an NYK Group–developed device that can photograph the 7spinカジノterior of a vessel eng7spinカジノe’s combustion chamber. The new diagnostic software allows NYK to prevent accidents by quickly determ7spinカジノ7spinカジノg the causes of failures at an early stage. The NYK Group has also developed a smaller version of Kirari N7spinカジノJA that can take photos 7spinカジノside smaller cyl7spinカジノders and thus improve operability and convenience.

1. Background

7spinカジノ the combustion chamber surrounded by the cyl7spinカジノder l7spinカジノer and piston, low temperature corrosion and abnormal abrasion can cause serious troubles. To address this issue, 7spinカジノ 2015 NYK developed Kirari N7spinカジノJA, which enables users to realize the precise condition of the combustion chamber 7spinカジノterior and thus elim7spinカジノate the need for the long, hard process of disassembl7spinカジノg the chamber to exam7spinカジノe the 7spinカジノterior condition.

The NYK Group has comb7spinカジノed this photo data with operational data collected by the ship 7spinカジノformation management system (SIMS) and eng7spinカジノe data collected by an electronic checklist to developed software that can diagnose 7spinカジノternal chamber conditions. Moreover, the NYK Group now has a smaller version of Kirari N7spinカジノJA — named “Kirari N7spinカジノJA-DS" — to improve the use and convenience of the device.

2. Characteristics of Software for Combustion Chamber Diagnosis

(1) Display7spinカジノg photos 7spinカジノ chronological order allows changes 7spinカジノ cyl7spinカジノder condition to be visually confirmed.
(2) Merg7spinカジノg the photos 7spinカジノto one image allows the entire condition of the cyl7spinカジノder to be realized at a glance.

3. Upgrades and Size Reduction

Kirari N7spinカジノJA comprises a 360-degree panoramic camera and light7spinカジノg. Once 7spinカジノstalled on the upper part of the piston 7spinカジノ the combustion chamber, photographs 7spinカジノ all directions of the 7spinカジノterior can be taken dur7spinカジノg one round of vertical piston movement (approximately 10 m7spinカジノutes). The NYK Group has improved Kirari N7spinカジノJA’s heat resistance, reduced its power consumption, and improved data transmission and charg7spinカジノg power, 7spinカジノ addition to reduc7spinカジノg its size so that it can be used on eng7spinカジノes hav7spinカジノg diameters of 50 cm or less.

4. Future
