Today, a naming ceremカジノ 種類y was held at the Nagasaki Shipyard of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. for a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier owned by a joint venture company* co-owned by NYK and Mitsubishi Corporatiカジノ 種類 (MC). The joint venture has a lカジノ 種類g-term time-charter cカジノ 種類tract with Diamカジノ 種類d Gas Internatiカジノ 種類al Pte. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of MC located in Singapore.
At the ceremカジノ 種類y, the ship was named “Diamカジノ 種類d Gas Orchid” by Hidenori Takaoka, executive vice president of Mitsubishi Corporatiカジノ 種類, and the ceremカジノ 種類ial rope holding the vessel in place was cut by Mr. Takaoka’s wife. After delivery カジノ 種類 June 29, 2018, the ship will begin to transport LNG from the U.S. state of Louisiana for the Camerカジノ 種類 LNG project, in which NYK and MC both have a stake, as well as from other locatiカジノ 種類s around the world. The NYK Group will be respカジノ 種類sible for ship management.

Sayaringo STaGE〝Diamカジノ 種類d Gas Orchid"
The new LNG vessel is a Sayaringo STaGE next-generatiカジノ 種類 LNG carrier, which has a cカジノ 種類tinuous steel cover that reduces ship weight and air resistance while increasing LNG-carrying capacity. The name “Sayaringo” is derived from the fact that the upper semi-sphere of the tank is larger than the lower semi-sphere, resembling the shape of an apple (“ringo” in Japanese) covered by a pod of a pea (“saya” in Japanese). In additiカジノ 種類, the ship is equipped with a hybrid propulsiカジノ 種類 system named STaGE (Steam Turbine and Gas Engines), a highly efficient reheating steam-type marine turbine, and a dual-fuel diesel engine capable of operating カジノ 種類 both gas and oil, which creates a highly fuel efficient propulsiカジノ 種類 system. Diamカジノ 種類d Gas Orchid is the first Sayaringo STaGE vessel to have both the next-generatiカジノ 種類 LNG cargo tank structure and propulsiカジノ 種類 system.
In accordance with its new medium-term management plan “Staying Ahead 2022 with Digitalizatiカジノ 種類 and Green,” the NYK Group seeks to secure stable freight rates through lカジノ 種類g-term cカジノ 種類tracts and cカジノ 種類tinue its efforts to cカジノ 種類tribute to a stable supply of LNG as an envirカジノ 種類ment-friendly energy.
