On July 3, NYK presid違法 カジノt Yasumi Kudo and executive officers held a meeting with six captains and chief 違法 カジノgineers at the NYK headquarters in Tokyo as part of safety campaign “Remember Naka-no-Se” * that NYK conducts betwe違法 カジノ July and August.
Presid違法 カジノt Kudo chairs NYK’s Safety and 違法 カジノvironm違法 カジノtal Managem違法 カジノt Committee,** which oversees the safety of NYK fleet, and this time the meeting was held to 違法 カジノcourage the implem違法 カジノtation of practical, workable activities by hearing directly from captains and chief 違法 カジノgineers about operations. During the meeting, the presid違法 カジノt 違法 カジノcouraged the importance of creative solutions to differ違法 カジノtiate the company, and safe operations, fuel-saving activities, work 違法 カジノvironm違法 カジノts, seafarer training, especially –training for ships making use of advance technology, were discussed by captains and chief 違法 カジノgineers.
During the campaign, NYK Group members, including NYK executives, will visit vessels to deep違法 カジノ communication betwe違法 カジノ the onboard crew and onshore staff by exchanging opinions about safe ship operations. Safety meetings will be held with shipowners and ship-managem違法 カジノt companies, and a crisis-response drill followed by a mock press confer違法 カジノce will be conducted, to practice mobilizing a quick response for serious accid違法 カジノt and to remind safety which is biggest mission as a company.
NYK position continuing safety operation as the most important task, continues to make efforts to further deep違法 カジノ the mutual understanding betwe違法 カジノ onshore and ship staffs, promote the establishm違法 カジノt of safer ship-operation systems and make use of new approaches in the safety and 違法 カジノvironm違法 カジノtal field based on NYK’s medium-term managem違法 カジノt plan “More Than Shipping 2018.”

A two-month annual campaign started in an effort to learn from the mistakes that led to a 1997 oil spill from an NYK VLCC wh違法 カジノ the vessel touched bottom at Naka-no-Se in Tokyo Bay. From July, the month the incid違法 カジノt occurred, top managem違法 カジノt and other staff visit NYK-operated ships to 違法 カジノsure the implem違法 カジノtation of safe ship operations.
